In July 2013 the German Association of Economists and Business Economists (bdvb) and the International Board of Economics and Business Knowledge (IBEBK) agreed on a bilateral membership. Together both associations want to foster economic education in Germany even more effectively in the future. Being Germany’s biggest association for professional economists, the bdvb has represented the interests of German economists across all economic disciplines since 1901. The association supports its approximately 11.000 members with all matters concerning studies, profession or further education. Furthermore it works as a platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange between science, education and business. Bdvb uses its expertise and voluntary engagement to work towards its goals of an economically orientated and socialy just society. Bdvb is divided into district, university and professional groups. Since 1966 it maintains its own research institute. The association is registered in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Germany. The executive office of bdvb is located in Dusseldorf, Germany.
